Game Review - Long Lost Lust

It’s not an exaggeration to say that Tender Troupe’s next game is one of the most hotly-anticipated releases here at Nutaku. Over the past year, we’ve seen the team behind some of our biggest games throw themselves at their biggest project yet, and watched as a CCG turned into something much bigger and way more ambitious. Now, the team’s next surefire hit is in our hands – but does Long Lost Lust live up to the lofty standards set by their previous titles?

Spoiler alert: absolutely! It’s no secret that we’re big fans of Tender Troupe here at Nutaku, so trust us when we say that this may be their best game yet. Whether you’re into fantasy, love role-playing games, or just want to see more of Kikilitious’ knock-out character designs, Long Lost Lust has a little something for everybody. By the team’s own admission, this is their biggest project yet – and it shows! It’s an ambitious fantasy adventure that draws from literature, movies, TV shows, and (of course) video games to deliver a familiar yet undeniably original yarn.

Long Lost Lust is basically an isekai anime crashed into Western fantasy. It follows a lovable dork who’s too wrapped up in his comics to ever get lucky with the ladies, and seems pretty resigned to the ol’ gym sock routine for the rest of his days. But that all changes when he finds himself sucked into his favorite comic and, much to his chagrin, forced to save a fantastical kingdom he never knew really existed. A mischievous goddess named Eris has all but erased sex from the kingdom, leaving millions high and (quite literally) dry. In order to help spread eros across the land, this endearing little poindexter needs to use his not-so-mighty rod to bring passion back to the world!

But he can’t do it alone – Long Lost Lust is all about the ladies, and you’ll need to enlist them in order to help your cause. Women of every race, class, and background need to be bested in battle to help bring sex back to the masses. In compelling casual RPG battles, you’ll come up against (and maybe even to) catgirls, harpies, Medusas, and all sorts of other violent femmes hellbent on leaving the world blue-balled and barren. Eventually, you’ll be able to recruit many of these powerful, sexy women into your ranks, and enlist them in your ongoing fight for the right to party. As you grow closer and collect more upgrades for each girl through combat, you’ll not only get a stronger team: you’ll unlock scorching hot fantasy sex scenes with humans and monsters alike. Orcs, beast girls, and so, so many more are waiting for a chance to jump your bones – not to mention pounding some puritans along the way!

But Long Lost Lust is so much more than just a fantasy RPG. For starters, there’s an unlockable, interactive comic that has some of the hottest sex scenes in the entire game – oh, and also tells the story! That’s not even getting into the roguelike-style optional dungeon, where players can take on fearsome foes to reap big bonuses, and the in-depth PVP. Plus, Tender Troupe is hard at work on a cooking minigame featuring the extremely popular Bethany, so there’s a lot to look forward to in the near future!

That’s what makes Long Lost Lust such a compelling package, really. Yes, this is a fantasy RPG, made by a team of people who care a lot about the genre, and have worked their butts to make something diehard fans will immediately love. But it’s a lot more than that, too. Much like a certain big fantasy game that rhymes with “pitcher,” Long Lost Lust delivers enough content for everybody that it doesn’t matter if you dig high fantasy or not. The script is tight and funny, the art is a more cartoon-y take on these types of stories, and the gameplay is something that everyone from casual players to devoted fans can run with. And with numerous updates based on fan feedback in the works, it’s clear that Tender Troupe cares about players liking this one enough to stick with it.

If you’re a Tender Troupe fan, don’t worry – Long Lost Lust is all it’s cracked up to be, and honestly, even a little more than expected. But if you’re a Tender virgin, well, this is definitely the best place to start.

So go – let the legend (of sex) come back to life!
